Looter-Shooter Multiplayer Borderlands 4 Will Be Released in 2025

 Announced at the PlayStation State of Play, 2K and Gearbox Software presented gameplay footage from Borderlands 4, the latest installment in the iconic looter-shooter series that has colored gamers' experiences for over a decade.Borderlands 4 is scheduled to be released on September 12, 2025, on various platforms, including the next-gen Nintendo Switch 2.

The gameplay footage introduces two of the four new Vault Hunters you can find.Vex the Siren, a tough Siren who can empower herself or manifest deadly shadows to fight alongside her.And Rafa the Exo-Soldier, a former Tediore soldier who wears an experimental exo-suit capable of creating various weapons.

Each Vault Hunter offers a unique playstyle that you can upgrade via the skill tree, just like in the previous Borderlands games.

You will explore the vast and seamlessly connected planet Kairos, facing the dangerous threat of the Timekeeper to the creatures living on this planet.For thousands of years, he has hidden this planet, controlling its inhabitants with cybernetic implants called Bolt, as well as the synthetic army of The Order.

The journey across Kairos will introduce players to several new and old icons, unique creatures, and factions scattered across four different regions fighting for freedom from the tyranny of the Timekeeper.

Explosive footage in State of Play features Vex and Rafa breaking into a secret facility in Terminus Range, a cold mountainous region.This gameplay segment highlights the power of the updated gear system in Borderlands 4, triggering the craziest loot hunt ever.

This system includes deadly weapons from eight new and old manufacturers, each with its own advantages, a Licensed Parts system that combines the behavior and capabilities of various manufacturers into a single weapon, Enhancement slots to improve weapons based on their manufacturer, Ordnance slots for Grenades and Heavy Weapons with cooldowns, and Rep Kits for healing and temporary buffs.

Borderlands 4 also makes it easier for players to join co-op multiplayer with a new online party formation system that stays together when switching game modes.This game was designed for co-op from the start, with instanced loot for each player, dynamic level scaling, and individual difficulty levels to keep the fun going throughout the campaign.
