formally declared! Jakarta will host the M7 World Championship in 2026.

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship (M Series) is a game that is often played by MLBB players, coaches, and fans worldwide. After successfully hosting the M6 in Malaysia in 2024, the M7 World Championship will return to Jakarta in 2026.

Three years after the M4 World Championship in Jakarta, M7 announced that both Indonesians will be joining MOONTON's M-Series team. Positive feedback is provided by Ketua Harian Pengurus Besar Esports Indonesia (PB ESI), Komisaris Jenderal Polisi (P.) Drs. Bambang Sunarwibowo. I believe that M7's kehadiran would gradually elevate Indonesia's standing as a major force in esport, particularly in the game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

"We are optimistic that the presence of M7 will provide broader global exposure, introduce the potential of Indonesian talent to the international world, and strengthen Indonesia's image as the esports hub of Asia. We also hope this event can inspire the younger generation to see esports as a future industry with great opportunities, whether as professional athletes, creators, or other supporting professions in the esports ecosystem," said Bambang Sunarwibowo.

M7 2026 is more than simply a tournament in PB ESI's eyes. M7 is regarded as a strategic opportunity that might benefit Indonesia greatly. "M7 is also expected to drive the growth of the creative economy through increased tourism, greater investment in the esports ecosystem, and the creation of new job opportunities in various supporting sectors. With the international scale it brings, M7 can be the starting point for Indonesia's transformation into an innovative and sustainable global esports hub," he added.

At another event, Yudistira Adipratama, a PB ESI spokesperson, announced that they will work with other ministries to promote esports tourism and Indonesia. "This includes other ministries, including the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, so we can't stand alone. Since M7 is also a business summit between nations, we will collaborate with other stakeholders," Yudistira stated.

The Indonesian team TLID made it to the ultimate finals of the last MLBB World Championship (M6). But after losing against the Filipino squad, FNOP, their hopes of winning the title were shattered. Will the Indonesian squad succeed in hosting the tournament and win the forthcoming M7? Let's wait and find out!
